I have always had both a need and a desire to express creative energy. When I was thirteen I discovered some darkroom equipment in our basement and began my experimentation with black and white photography. By the age of 16, I had won several contests and was beginning to work professionally. My undergraduate and graduate education led me to explore the psychological foundations of creative thought. I authored and co-authored numerous articles and books on the subject and continued to explore artistic outlets for creative energy through photography.
A photograph captures some of what the mind experiences. A good photograph captures something special that others may have ignored, or reveals something in a different way. An important part of photography for me is noticing and seeing things that may otherwise have slipped by and escaped being experienced.
My images reflect what I experience and imagine not just what a camera might record. That experience or vision may have existed for a just a moment or an eternity in my mind. I hope these images stimulate similar experiences for others.
Limited Edition Original Prints
The term “Original Print” is used to describe fine art prints that are themselves the only original manifestations of the artist's images. These prints are not reproductions of oil paintings or watercolors, but rather represent the first medium in which the art was produced for display. Each of my original prints is individually crafted using archival pigmented inks, archival papers and archival matting materials. The materials I use are selected to provide outstanding longevity and vibrance.
No artist can say for certain how long their images will last, in part, because of environmental factors. The materials I use are estimated to last far longer than traditional color photographs based on independently conducted accelerated aging tests. To achieve optimal longevity it is important to keep prints framed under glass, away from direct sunlight, and away from high humidity.
These limited edition original prints are sold through fine galleries.
